Living Out Loud
Last night the strangest thing happened.
I went to a friend’s home for a dinner gathering. Some other folks who hadn’t met before also gathered. We all got along. We had fun and enjoyed sharing stories and laughter.
We asked a few questions. Everyone got a chance to share what they thought. Some shared stuff that was probably hard to share with strangers. But it felt really safe. It felt really honest and authentic.
I said recently to a friend that the (secular) teen organization that I have started working for is giving me a grasp of what the essence and challenge of gospel is better than any church I have been a part of. Last night gave me a better grasp of what the chuch could be about than…. well, I won’t go there because there are all different types of church groupings. Many people get deep love from their church family.
I left last night’s gathering feeling very warm and deeply curious, grateful for epinoian friends and new friends.
Blessings…
