More stories, on tradition and innovation

When one news agency is on to something, it’s not long before the others pick up on it. First Time ran the story on Rob Bell, that I posted a few days ago. Now, it’s U.S. News & World Report with a cover story on “A Return to Tradition.” The story does a general survey on Catholicism, Judaism, Islam, and even a brief bit on the emerging church, with quotes from Brian McLaren, Tony Jones, and George Barna.

One thing that McLaren had to say, “Protestantism has been in a centrifugal pattern for so long, with each group spinning away from others. But now there is some kind of pull back to the center.”

There was also a brief complementary piece on an emerging church that meets in a coffee shop in Virginia, “Mixing Jesus with Java.”
