The Hip Pastor
Time magazine recently ran a story on Rob Bell — The Hipper-Than-Thou Pastor — and I thought I’d pass it along.
I pretty much consider myself a Rob Bell disciple. I’ve read both of his books which challenged me to think in ways I’ve never thought. I’ve become obsessed with his Nooma series, which speaks to me in more ways than I could possibly articulate. I attended his recent tour “The God’s Aren’t Angry“, and watched the film of his first speaking tour “Everything is Spiritual” where I hung on his every word.
Someway, somehow Rob Bell speaks to me. Even to the point where I considered dropping everything moving to Michigan where I could room with a best friend from High School who lives in Grand Rapids, and attending the church he pastors, Mars Hill.
It’s probably dangerous to put this much faith in one persons teachings. But it’s not so much what Bell teaches, but rather how he teaches me to re-read, re-learn, and re-discover God.
Anyway, that was a lot of rambling to just give you guys a link to the Time story.
